What conditions do you treat?

Alongside the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions such as back and neck pain, joint and muscle pain, and sports injuries, I specialise in pelvic health physiotherapy, supporting people with:

  • Pelvic floor dysfunction, including weakness, overactivity, or pain
  • Bladder and bowel symptoms such as incontinence and overactive bladder
  • Vaginal prolapse
  • Vaginal pessary fitting
  • Pregnancy-related and postnatal issues
  • Mummy MOT assessment and follow-up
  • Post-surgical pelvic rehabilitation
  • Menopause-related pelvic health changes / Menopause MOT
  • Persistent pelvic pain or discomfort

If you’re unsure whether physiotherapy is right for your symptoms, please get in touch and I’ll be happy to advise.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No. You do not need a GP or consultant referral to book an appointment. You are welcome to self-refer.

What happens during an initial pelvic health assessment?

Your first appointment includes a detailed discussion about your symptoms, medical history, and goals. With your consent, this may also include a physical examination, which can involve assessment of posture, movement, abdominal muscles, and the pelvic floor. Everything is explained clearly, and you are always in control.

How many sessions will I need?

I can advise better regarding this following your assessment, and this varies depending on your symptoms, goals, and how your body responds to treatment. Some people notice improvements within a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. We will regularly review progress together to find a treatment schedule that feels supportive enough for you and suits your needs.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear whatever you are comfortable in. You may be asked to undress for parts of the assessment, but privacy and dignity are always prioritised.

Will I need an internal examination?

An internal vaginal or rectal examination is never mandatory. It can be a useful assessment tool, but it will only be carried out with your informed consent. If you choose not to have one, treatment options are still available.

Can I still attend if I am on my period?

Yes, absolutely. I am more than happy to carry out a vaginal examination if you are on your period. Your comfort is what is most important, so if you would prefer to rearrange that is completely fine, but it doesn’t bother me if it doesn’t bother you.

Do you provide a chaperone?

I am unable to provide a chaperone. However, if you would like to bring your own, that is absolutely fine.

How do I book an appointment?

Appointments can be booked via the booking platform within the clinic website. If you’re unsure which appointment type is right for you, I’m happy to help guide you. Please contact me via the clinic email address and I will get back to you ASAP.

Do you accept health insurance?

I do not work with health insurance companies. Payment is self-funded at the time of booking or appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full. This allows appointments to be offered to others who are waiting.
